To enroll a methane digester project, submit the completed enrollment worksheet and signed contract to the Delta Institute.
- The Delta Institute will review the application, contract, and other materials, and contact the project owner directly regarding the completeness of the application.
- Once the application is complete, the Delta Institute will countersign the contract and send you a copy of the completed application materials.
- Land enrolled in conservation tillage, grass and tree plantings, and sustainable forest management are subject to annual verification by a third party.
- When completed, the verification reports are sent to CCX® and trading can occur. If there is a problem with the verification of the acreage, the Delta Institute will contact the project owner.
- CCX® will review the verification reports over a two to three week period and notify the Delta Institute when the carbon can be traded on the exchange.
- After trading, the Delta Institute will pay the project owner for the carbon traded. Payment will typically occur within one month of selling the carbon credits on the CCX®.
