Trading

All credits are traded on CCX®. The price per metric ton of carbon varies depending on the market. For current market prices, see http://www.chicagoclimatex.com. The aggregator sells the carbon credits on behalf of the producer or landowner. The funds from the sale are returned to the producer/landowner minus a $0.20/ton trading fee from CCX®, and an 8% aggregation fee from the aggregator. If applicable, verification fees are also deducted from the sale.

Enrollment

To enroll in the program, an application form and contract must be filled out and provided to the P2E2 Center. Once the application and contract are complete and the practices identified, CCX® requires that they be verified by an independent party. The P2E2 Center, as aggregator, will arrange for the verification. When completed, the verification reports are sent to CCX® and trading can occur.
